Please contact Amila directly to inquire about clinical or forensic assessments, including disability pension assessments for Veterans Affairs Canada.
As a young child, I immigrated to Canada from war-torn Bosnia and Hercegovina. I am proud to call the true north my home while holding the beautiful land of the golden lilies deep within my heart.
I completed a Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in psychology, followed by a Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology. I am trained in both clinical and forensic realms. I am continually learning, training, and evolving to maintain or exceed the high standards governing the psychology profession in Alberta. I spent almost nine years working as a Civilian Member for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which includes several years as an emergency dispatcher. Prior to this, I worked as a crisis counsellor in the area of domestic violence. A combination of specialized education and diverse life experience allows me to provide the individualized, client-centred care you deserve.
While I only work with adults – with focus on first responders and military – I celebrate and welcome diversity in all forms. I am able to work with a diverse range of presenting problems while specializing in posttraumatic stress, anxiety disorders, and depression. I am committed to helping you in your mental health journey and employing skills that will stay with you for life. I care deeply about my clients but believe my ultimate job is to help guide you to care for yourself in ways you might not have known.
